Cee Vee, Texas, Cottle County. (original) (raw)
History in a Pecan Shell
The town was founded on land that had been part of the CV Ranch. The town only dates from 1927 when a break-up of the larger Mill Iron Ranch created Cee Vee.
The post office application was for the two letters CV, but the postal authorities did not accept initials (with good reason). The post office opened in 1928.
The former Mill Iron Ranch headquarters served as the first school.
Cee Vee had a population of fifty for the 1940 census. The school was consolidated in the 1950s.
