Entering Inadale Texas

History in a Pecan Shell

Inadale dates from only 1922. The Roscoe, Snyder and Pacific Railroad was already there when W.C. Cleckler built a store alongside the tracks.

The town gets it's name from Ina Wooten, daughter of one of the railroad's owners.

The population was 60 in 1900, and Inadale reached it's zenith in 1947 with 150 persons. The population was 100 people as late as the 1980 census, but only eight remained in 1990.

Never heard of this place until I started searching for my grandmother, Ina Wooten blood line. I dont think this town is named after my grandmother, but I was intrigued to see someone else with her name and a town named in honor of that namereally cool! - Shenetha R.
