"This area of the river is called the Navarro Crossing. It is where Davey Crockett was said to have crossed the Trinity. Some of the oldest oil wells in East Texas are near the banks of the Trinity. There is supposed to be an old black voodoo woman that lives near the river. She is over 100 years old I am told and is said to have the most information about the site." - Dana Goolsby
