History on a Pinhead

Only history available is John J Germann's research on the cover of Bismark 1895 canceled postmark shown above.

Bismark was suggested for inclusion by Donna Bolivar who wrote:

My grandmother was born in Bismark, Wichita Co TX, now part of Iowa Park. Her father (James H Parker) had a general store and was Postmaster from 1890-1894. I was told they had a team of Clydesdale that he used to get supplies.

They talked about Quanah Parker and his five wives coming to the store, the first wife had more money to spend and the newest wife the least. They also joked about having the the same last name.

My greatgrandmother (Janie Bowering) had her own set of pistols and was quite a horsewoman. - Donna Boliver, July 28, 2014
