- Subject: Oak Grove, Jones County "My brother and I grew up in a rural area of Jones County that is known as Oak Grove. The problem is as we grow older few people even around this area know that Oak Grove was a community with a school and church, now gone.
Could someone share their memories of Oak Grove in pioneer Jones County? I would really appreciate any memories .......... pictures, etc. Thank you." - Nancy Dixon Bailey, August 10, 2014 - Subject: Oak Grove School in Jones County

The Oak Grove school was closed and consolidated with the Anson Independent School District at the close of the school year in 1945. - Charles Eugene Steel , August 30, 2020

Rather than transfer to Antelope, the nearest school, he decide to organize a new district....."
