History in Pecan Shell
Pony had it's own post office which opened around 1910 and discontinued service in 1918 when mail was routed through Ballinger. The town's population in 1940 was reported as 25.
Both Pony and the nearby Hoffman cemetery were shown on the 2001 TxDOT Runnels County map.
