Courthouse History
From "Roby" Historical Marker across from the courthouse:
"In an election held in April 1886, Roby was declared the county seat. The first county court was held in a shed behind the V. H. Anderson House, which served as the town's first post office. A frame courthouse was built on the southwest corner of the town square and was replaced over the years by a succession of other structures."

"A friend of ours grew up in Roby. Story goes locally that the time came for Fisher County to build a new courthouse, maybe in the late sixties. What to do with the old frame two story 1910 courthouse? It was cut apart and sold in two sections and made into residences. My friend bet me I couldn't find them. I have photo'd them and he confirmed that they were indeed parts of the old courthouse."
