Hello Professor Plagens,

In 1969 the Fort Worth Art Center published a book entitled Drawings, by you Peter Plagens, Essay (No title, 10 pages). I have been in contact with Rick Floyd at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and he has found that you and the museum are the essay's owner. Therefore, we need your permission as well as theirs (which we have already received - see correspondence below). TFAO will be pleased to reprint the essay (without illustrations) in Resource Library.

Could you please confirm your permission to reprint the essay (10 pages) as co-owner of the text, without any accompanying illustrations, through a reply to this email addressed to me and to info@tfaoi.org ?We further invite you to send a brief author's biography to accompany the text.

Kind regards,

Sta cey

Dear Stacey,

I have managed to do more research into this, and, given this is an early exhibition some digging in the archives was required. I am sorry to say that the particulars of the arrangement between the FWAC and Mr. Plagens indicate that he should be contacted, as holder of the copyright, for permission to reprint the essay. It is my understanding that he currently resides in New York City. The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth does, from our position in the publication, grant permission for reprinting.

Please let me know if you need any additional information at this time, and I hope you can still work this in despite the passed deadline. I would likely be able to get an address for Mr. Plagens from our Chief Curator tomorrow if you need it.

Sincerely,

Rick
