Hi Stacey,
It looks like TFAO won't publish the essay we asked about, but the essay in American Art at The Chrysler Museum: Selected Paintings, Sculpture, and Drawings by Martha H. Hagood and Jefferson C. Harrison, published 2005 by the Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk, Virginia. LOC Control Number: 2004113799, ISBN: 0-940744-71-6.is OK with TFAO as a substitute.
If MHM is concerned that TFAO may need further approvals, it is necessary to ask for them. Please feel free to contact the distributor, University of Virginia Press, and the producer by Marquand Books, Inc., Seattle to see if they will give their approval, noting to them that the republishing online is OK with MHM.
Best,
John

Dear Stacey,
Thank you very much for your request. Although we would love to have our publications linked from your site, we do not want the particular publication you request, Three Hundred Years of American Art in the Chrysler Museum, 1976 Exhibition Catalogue by Dennis Anderson, Curator of American Art, 15-page Introduction to be reproduced. It in fact contains many errors and the Chief Curator, Jefferson Harrison, has explicitly stated we cannot digitize it on your site, or any other site.
We are, however, interested to see if you would like to rekey _American Art at The Chrysler Museum: Selected Paintings, Sculpture, and Drawings_by Martha H. Hagood and Jefferson C. Harrison, published 2005 by the Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk, Virginia. LOC Control Number: 2004113799, ISBN: 0-940744-71-6.
The only question I have concerns the other players in the publishing, specifically the distributor, University of Virginia Press, and the producer by Marquand Books, Inc., Seattle do they also need to approve this request?
Thank you, again, for your request and I look forward to working with you on this
Best wishes,
Molly
