The Berkshire Museum, recognized as one of the finest small museums in the nation, is one of the few museums where art, history and the natural world are displayed in one place. The Museum is located on the east side of Route 7 near Park Square in the heart of Pittsfield, MA.

Founded in 1903 by noted Dalton philanthropist Zenas Crane, the Museum exhibits a diverse permanent collection in 18 galleries encompassing three floors.

The Berkshire Museum's art collection includes 450 paintings,129 sculptures, approximately 2,900 decorative objects, more than 500 prints and works on paper, and 3,000 photographs. At the heart of the collection are 19th-century masters - Inness, Church, Bierstadt, Copley, and Peale. The 20th century is represented by American Constuctivist paintings collected by A.E. Gallatin, early Calder mobiles, and works by present-day notables with ties to the Berkshires including Nancy Graves, George Rickey, Ellsworth Kelly, and Tom Patti.
