The mission of the C.M. Russell Museum is to collect, preserve, research and interpret the art and life of Charles M. Russell; the art and life of his contemporaries; and the art of preceding and ensuing generations that depicts and focuses on the culture, life and country of Russell's West. Celebrating its 50th Anniversary in The Museum's collections have grown to include not only Russell's works, illustrated letters and personal artifacts, but also contemporary and historical Western and Native American art and artifacts. The newly expanded C.M. Russell Museum complex occupies a full city block including two National Historic Landmark sites, Charlie Russell's Home and Log Studio, as separate buildings. Through its on-site and outreach programs, the Museum is a major resource for educators in Great Falls and throughout Montana, offering high quality educational programs for school groups, families and adults.
