DESCRIPTION
This circular mosaic is decorated with the names and symbols of Apollo, Mnemosyne and the nine Muses. Apollo's symbol is a lyre, Calliope's a writing board, Urania's a globe, Polymneia's pensive face, Erato's a lyre, Terpsichore's a cithara, Melpomene's a tragic mask, Thalia's a comic mask, Euterpe's flutes, Clio's a scroll, and Mnemosyne a rock representing Mount Pieria (labelled as such).
