DESCRIPTION
The goddesses Athena, Hera and Aphrodite, present themselves to Paris in their contest for the golden apple of discord. The three stand together in a group--Athena (left) wears a helm and aegis-cloak and carries a spear, Aphrodite is seated and holds a sceptre, Hera is dressed in blue and gold, and has a royal sceptre. Aphrodite's winged son Eros stands on a plinth above her head.
