Maximilian von Österreich, Emperor of Mexico was born on 6 July 1832 at Vienna, AustriaG.4 He was the son of Franz Karl Joseph Erzherzog von Österreich and Sophie Prinzessin von Bayern.5 He married Marie Charlotte Amelie de Belgique, Princesse de Belgique, daughter of Leopold I Georg Christian Friedrich, Roi des Belges and Louise Marie d'Orléans, Princesse d'Orléans, on 27 July 1857 at Brussels, BelgiumG.6 He died on 19 June 1867 at age 34 at Queretaro, MexicoG, shot by revolutionaries.6
He was a member of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine.4 He was given the name of Ferdinand Maximilian Joseph at birth.4 He gained the title of Erzherzog von Österreich.7 He gained the title of Emperor Maximilian I of Mexico in 1864.7

Waldemar zu Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, Prince of Denmark was born on 27 October 1858 at Bernstorff Castle, Denmark.1 He was the son of Christian IX zu Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, King of Denmark and Luise Wilhelmine Friederike Karoline Auguste Julie Prinzessin von Hessen-Kassel.3 He married Marie Amélie Françoise Hélène d'Orléans, Princesse d'Orléans, daughter of Robert Philippe Louis Eugène Ferdinand d'Orléans, Duc de Chartres and Françoise Marie Amélie d'Orléans, Princesse de France, on 20 October 1885 at Paris, FranceG, in a civil marriage.3 They were also married in a religious ceremony on 22 October 1885 at Château d'Eu, Paris, FranceG.1 He died on 14 January 1939 at age 80 at Copenhagen, DenmarkG.1
He gained the title of HRH Prince Waldemar of Denmark.1 He gained the rank of Admiral of the Navy in 1859 in the Danish Navy.3
