Georg II Herzog von Sachsen-Meiningen und Hildburghausen was born on 2 April 1826 at Meiningen, Thüringen, GermanyG.1 He was the son of Bernhard II Erich Freud Herzog von Sachsen-Meiningen und Hildburghausen and Marie Friederike Wilhelmine Prinzessin von Hessen-Kassel.1 He married, firstly, Friederike Luise Wilhelmine Marianne Charlotte Prinzessin von Preußen, daughter of Friedrich Heinrich Albrecht Prinz von Preußen and Marianne von Nassau, Princess of the Netherlands, on 18 May 1850 at Schloss Charlottenburg, Berlin, GermanyG.1 He married, secondly, Feodore Viktorie Adelheid Prinzessin zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg, daughter of Ernst Christian Carl IV Fürst zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg and Anna Feodorovna Auguste Charlotte Wilhelmine Prinzessin zu Leiningen, on 23 October 1858 at Langenburg, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.1 He married, secondly, Helene Franz, daughter of Hermann Franz, on 18 March 1872 at LiebensteinG in a morganatic marriage.2 He was also reported to have been married on 18 November 1850 at Schloss Charlottenburg, Berlin, GermanyG. He died on 25 June 1914 at age 88 at Wildungen, GermanyG.1
He gained the title of Herzog von Sachsen-Hildburghausen on 12 November 1826. He gained the title of Herzog Georg II von Sachsen-Meiningen und Hildburghausen (styled as HH Reigning Duke George II of Saxe-Meiningen and Hildburghausen) on 3 December 1882.1

She died on 30 March 1855 at age 23 at Meiningen, Thüringen, GermanyG.2 She was buried at English Garden, Meiningen, Thüringen, GermanyG.
She gained the title of Prinzessin von Preußen.2
