Frederick William Hervey, 1st Marquess of Bristol1

Frederick William Hervey, 1st Marquess of Bristol was born on 2 June 1769.2 He was the son of Rt. Rev. Frederick Augustus Hervey, 4th Earl of Bristol and Elizabeth Davers.2 He married Hon. Elizabeth Albinia Upton, daughter of Clotworthy Upton, 1st Baron Templetown and Elizabeth Boughton, on 20 February 1798, although his father wanted him to marry the Countess de la Marche, an illegitimate daughter of the King of Prussia, instead.3 He died on 15 February 1859 at age 89 at 6 St. James's Square, London, EnglandG, from gout.3 He was buried on 24 February 1859 at Ickworth, Suffolk, EnglandG.2 His will was proven (by probate) on 28 April 1859, at under £90,000.2
He gained the rank of Ensign in 1778 in the 1st Foot Guards.2 He graduated from St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1788 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He retired from the military in 1792.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) Captain Christopher Baldwin Hughes Wake-Walker1
