Sir Ralph Assheton, 2nd Bt.1

Sir Ralph Assheton, 2nd Bt. was born on 11 February 1651.2 He was the son of Sir Ralph Assheton, 1st Bt. and Anne Assheton.1,2 He was baptised on 19 February 1651 at Middleton, Lancashire, EnglandG.2 He married, firstly, Mary Vavasour, daughter of Thomas Vavasour and Dorothy Leigh.2 He married, secondly, Mary Hyde, daughter of Robert Hyde.2 He died on 3 May 1716 at age 65, without surviving male issue.2 He was buried at Middleton, Lancashire, EnglandG.2 His will (dated 8 July 1709 to 6 April 1716) was proven (by probate) on 13 February 1716/17.2
He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Assheton, of Middleton, co. Lancaster [E., 1660] on 23 April 1665.2 He matriculated at Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 16 July 1668.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Liverpool between March 1677 and 1679.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lancashire between February 1694 and 1698.2 On 11 June 1696 he inherited the estate of Whalley from his unle, Sir John Assheton, 4th Bt.1

Radclyffe Assheton1

Radclyffe Assheton was born in 1582.2 He was the son of Ralph Assheton and Johanna Radclyffe.1 He married Elizabeth Hyde, daughter of John Hyde.2 He died on 19 January 1644.2
He was also known as Radcliffe Assheton.3 He was Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas of Lancashire in 1608.2 In 1614 he bought with his father the Hall and Manor of Cuerdale.2 He lived at Cuerdale, Walton, Lancashire, EnglandG.1

Sir Ralph Assheton, 1st Bt. was born on 9 July 1626 at Denby Grange, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Ralph Assheton and Elizabeth Kaye.1 He married Anne Assheton, daughter of Sir Ralph Assheton, 1st Bt. and Eleanor Shuttleworth, circa 1647.1 He died on 23 April 1665 at age 38.1 He was buried at Middleton, Lancashire, EnglandG.1
He was admitted to Gray's Inn on 13 August 1639.1 He was appointed Knight on 16 July 1660.1 He was created 1st Baronet Assheton, of Middleton, co. Lancaster [England] on 17 August 1660.1
