Alice Barnham1

Alice, Viscountess St. Alban 2

Alice Barnham was the daughter of Benedict Barnham and Dorothy Smith.1 She married, firstly, Francis Bacon, 1st and last Viscount Saint Alban, son of Sir Nicholas Bacon and Anne Cooke, on 10 May 1606 at Marylebone Chapel, Marylebone, London, EnglandG.1 She married, secondly, Sir John Underhill on 20 April 1626 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church, Covent Garden, London, EnglandG.3 She died on 29 June 1650.3 She was buried at Eyworth, Bedfordshire, EnglandG.3
From 10 May 1606, her married name became Bacon.1 After her marriage, Alice Barnham was styled as Baroness of Verulam on 12 July 1618. After her marriage, Alice Barnham was styled as Viscountess Saint Alban on 27 January 1620/21. From 20 April 1626, her married name became Underhill.3 She lived at Eyworth, Bedfordshire, EnglandG.1

Sir Nicholas Hickman Ponsonby Bacon, 14th and 15th Bt. was born on 17 May 1953.1 He is the son of Sir Edmund Castell Bacon, 13th and 14th Bt. and Priscilla Dora Ponsonby.2 He married Susan Henrietta Dinnis, daughter of Raymond Dinnis and Una Knight, in 1981.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Page of Honour to HM Queen Elizabeth II between 1966 and 1969.1 He graduated from Dundee University, Dundee, Angus, ScotlandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was admitted to Gray's Inn in 1978 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He was admitted to Liveryman of the Grocer's Company.1 He succeeded as the 15th Baronet Bacon, of Mildenhall, co.
