Sir Rowland Hirst Barran1

Sir Rowland Hirst Barran was born on 7 August 1858.1 He was the son of Sir John Barran, 1st Bt. and Ann Hirst.1 He married, firstly, Rose Cardew Bradley, daughter of Reverend Gilbert Bradley, on 10 February 1887.1 He and Rose Cardew Bradley were divorced in 1899.1 He married, secondly, Louise Buchanan Brown, daughter of J. Stevenson Brown, on 7 April 1909.1 He died on 6 August 1949 at age 90.1
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Leeds between 1901 and 1918.1 He was appointed Knight in 1917.1

Captain Rowland Noel Barran was born on 25 December 1887.1 He was the son of Sir Rowland Hirst Barran and Rose Cardew Bradley.1 He married Auriol Camilla Sharlia Blanche Hay, daughter of Hon. Alistair George Hay-Drummond and Hon. Camilla Dagmar Violet Greville, on 12 March 1917.1 He died on 19 March 1919 at age 31, while on active service.1
He gained the rank of Captain in the 2nd Life Guards.1

Camilla Dagmar Violet Greville, daughter of Algernon William Fulke Greville, 2nd Baron Greville of Clonyn and Lady Beatrice Violet Graham, on 12 January 1890.2 He married, secondly, Hyacinthe Farrer, daughter of Captain John Farrer, in 1909.2
He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Battalion, Black Watch.2 He was awarded the Chevalier, Legion of Honour.2
