Sir Cuthbert Lowell Ackroyd, 1st Bt. was born on 4 September 1892.1 He was the son of Benjamin Bately Ackroyd and Emily Armitage.1 He married Joyce Wallce Whyte, daughter of Robert Whyte, on 14 June 1927.1 He died on 11 April 1973 at age 80.1
He was educated at London University, London, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Artillery.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He held the office of Common Councillor of the City of London in 1940.1 He held the office of Alderman of the City of London in 1945.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the City of London in 1945.1 He held the office of Visiting Magistrate of Holloway Prison between 1945 and 1955.1 He held the office of Lord Mayor of London from 1955 to 1956.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) by Leeds University, Leeds, Yorkshire, West Riding, EnglandG, in 1956.1 He was created 1st Baronet Ackroyd, of Dewsbury, Yorkshire [U.K.] on 8 May 1956. He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Kent in 1962.1 He held the office of Governor of the Irish Society between 1964 and 1967.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Kent from 1964 to 1965.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.)1

Charles Granville, 2nd Earl of Bath was baptised on 31 August 1661 at St. James's, London, EnglandG.1 He was the son of John Granville, 1st Earl of Bath and Jane Wyche.1 He married, firstly, Martha Osborne, daughter of Thomas Osborne, 1st Duke of Leeds and Lady Bridget Bertie, on 22 May 1678 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church, Covent Garden, London, EnglandG.1 He married, secondly, Isabella de Nassau, daughter of Hendrik de Nassau, Herr de Ouwerkerk and Woudenberg and Frances van Aersen, on 10 March 1690/91.1 He died on 4 September 1701 at age 40 at St. James's, London, EnglandG, after shooting himself.1 He was buried on 22 September 1701 at Kilkhampton, Cornwall, EnglandG.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 10 September 1701.1
He was styled as Lord Lansdown on 22 May 1678.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Launceston from 1680 to 1681.1 He fought in the defeat of the Turks before Vienna in 1683.1 He was created Count of the Holy Roman Empire [Holy Roman Empire] on 27 January 1684.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)
