General Christopher Birdwood was born on 12 March 1807 at Pucklechurch, Bristol, England.1,2 He was the son of Major Peter Birdwood and Mary Brodrick.1 He married Lydia Juliana Taylor, daughter of Reverend Joseph Taylor, on 21 January 1832 at Belgaum, Bombay, India.2 He died on 4 July 1882 at age 75 at Pucklechurch, Bristol, EnglandG.1,2
He gained the rank of General in the Indian Army.1
