Sir Jonathan Cope, 1st Bt. was born circa 1692.2 He was the son of Jonathan Cope and Susan Fowler.3,4 He married Mary Jenkinson, daughter of Sir Robert Jenkinson, 2nd Bt. and Sarah Tomlins, in 1717.5 He died on 28 March 1765.5
He lived at Brewerne Abbey, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.5 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.6 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.6 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bunbury between 1713 and 1722.6 He was created 1st Baronet Cope, of Bruern [Great Britain] on 1 March 1714.1
