Gaétan Mabille du Chêne, Comte de Thiene was born in 1843.2 He married Carlotta Moore, daughter of Josiah Moore, on 2 September 1873 at Lucerne, Switzerland.3 He married Chéricle Louis Gudin, daughter of Baron Théodore Gudin and Louis-Margaret Gordon Hay, in 1878.2 He died in 1927.2
He gained the title of Comte de Thiene. He fought in the Papal War between 1861 and 1870.2 He was Aide-de-Camp to General Zanzler, Commander of the Papal Army.2 He fought in the Franco-Prussian War between 1870 and 1871.2 He was awarded the Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur in 1871.4 He was awarded the Knight, Order of Pius IX.2 He was Chamberlain to Pope Leo XIII in 1878.2
