William Byron was born on 11 October 1831.1 He was the son of Admiral George Anson Byron, 7th Baron Byron of Rochdale and Elizabeth Mary Chandos-Pole.2 He married, firstly, Mary Elizabeth Kindersley, daughter of Sir Richard Torin Kindersley, on 4 February 1857.1 He married, secondly, Mary Burnside, daughter of Reverend John Burnside, on 23 November 1878.1 He died on 17 May 1907 at age 75.1
