Francis Benedict Hayam Goldsmith was born on 28 November 1878 at Frankfurt-am-Main, Hessen, GermanyG.1 He was the son of Adolphe Benedict Hayum Goldschmidt.2 He married Marcelle Mouiller in 1929 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England.1,3 He died on 14 February 1967 at age 88.4
He was given the name of Frank Goldschmidt at birth.4 He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)4 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1902.4 He held the office of Member of the Westminster City Council between 1903 and 1907.4 He held the office of Member of the London County Council between 1904 and 1910.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Suffolk, Stowmarket Division between 1910 and 1918.4 He gained the rank of Major in the Suffolk Yeomanry.4 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)4 He was a director of the Savoy Hotel and of Claridge's.4

She was secretary to James Goldsmith.2 From 16 January 1963, her married name became Goldsmith.2
