Mary Buckley Mathew was born in 1757.2 She was the daughter of Abednego Mathew and Jennett Buckley.1 She married Hugh Carleton, 1st and last Viscount Carleton of Clare, son of Francis Carleton and Rebecca Lawton, on 15 July 1795 at Uxbridge, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 13 March 1810 at St. George Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1
After her marriage, Mary Buckley Mathew was styled as Baroness Carleton of Anner on 15 July 1795. From 15 July 1795, her married name became Carleton.1 After her marriage, Mary Buckley Mathew was styled as Viscountess Carleton of Clare on 21 November 1797.

Henry Boyle, 1st and last Baron Carleton was the son of Charles Boyle, 2nd Baron Clifford of Lanesborough and Lady Jane Seymour.1 He died on 14 March 1725 at Carleton House, Pall Mall, London, EnglandG, unmarried.2 He was buried on 31 March 1725.2
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Tamworth from 1689 to 1690.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)
