Rear-Admiral Rafe Grenville Rowley-Conwy was born on 11 September 1875.2 He was the son of Conwy Grenville Hercules Rowley-Conwy and Marian Harford.1 He died on 4 April 1951 at age 75, unmarried.2
He fought in the First World War, and he was mentioned in despatches.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1917.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Flintshire.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Flintshire in 1929.2 He held the office of Lord Lieutenant of Flintshire between 1935 and 1951.2 He gained the rank of Commodore in the Royal Naval Reserve.2 He fought in the Second World War, in the North Atlantic Convoys.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal (D.S.M.)
