Lt.-Col. Ian Henry Murray1

Lt.-Col. Ian Henry Murray was born on 29 January 1916.1 He was the son of Major Henry Francis Farquharson Murray and Madeline Elizabeth Giles.1 He married Eleanor Fownes Porcher, daughter of Reverend Geoffrey Lionel Porcher and Marjorie Fownes Somerville, on 20 April 1940.1 He died on 9 May 1990 at age 74 at Helston, Cornwall, England.1,2
He was educated at Wellington College, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was wounded.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Highland Fusiliers.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1945.1 He held the office of Naval and Military Attaché to Warsaw between 1960 and 1961.1 He was Honorary Colonel of the Royal Highland Fusiliers.1
