Lt.-Col. Joseph Stopford1

Emily Stopford1

Emily Stopford was the daughter of James Stopford and Mary Forth.1 She and Theophilus Butler, 1st Baron Newtown Butler obtained a marriage license on 24 March 1701.1 She died on 13 June 1722.2
From 24 March 1701, her married name became Butler.1 After her marriage, Emily Stopford was styled as Baroness Newtown Butler on 21 October 1715.

Theophilus Butler, 1st Baron Newtown Butler1

Theophilus Butler, 1st Baron Newtown Butler was the son of Francis Butler and Judith Jones.2 He and Emily Stopford obtained a marriage license on 24 March 1701.1 He died on 11 March 1723/24, without surviving issue.1
He was created 1st Baron Newtown Butler [Ireland] on 21 October 1715, with special remainder to the male descendants of his father.2

Dorothy Stopford1

F, #229557, d. 10 April 1729

Dorothy Stopford was the daughter of James Stopford and Mary Forth.1 She married, firstly, Edward Brabazon, 4th Earl of Meath, son of Edward Brabazon, 2nd Earl of Meath and Mary Chambré, on 22 September 1704.1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Gen. Richard Gorges, son of Robert Gorges, in December 1716.1 She died on 10 April 1729.1
Dorothy Stopford also went by the nick-name of 'the Countess Doll'.1 After her marriage, Dorothy Stopford was styled as Countess of Meath on 22 September 1704. From 22 September 1704, her married name became Brabazon.1 From December 1716, her married name became Gorges.1

Edward Brabazon, 4th Earl of Meath1

Edward Brabazon, 4th Earl of Meath was born circa 1638.1 He was the son of Edward Brabazon, 2nd Earl of Meath and Mary Chambré.2 He married, firstly, Cecilia Brereton, daughter of Sir William Brereton, 1st Bt., before 1677.2 He married, secondly, Dorothy Stopford, daughter of James Stopford and Mary Forth, on 22 September 1704.1 He died on 22 February 1707/8, without issue.1
He gained the rank of Captain of Foot in 1661.2 He gained the rank of Captain of Horse.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Wicklow between June 1666 and August 1666.2 He held the office of Ranger of Phoenix Park in 1675.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1679.2 He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Meath [I., 1627] circa 28 February 1684/85.2 He succeeded as the 5th Lord Brabazon, Baron of Ardee, co. Louth [I., 1616] circa 28 February 1684/85.2 In May 1689 he was attainted by King James II's Irish Parliament.2 He fought in the Battle of the Boyne in 1690, in command of a Williamite regiment.2 He fought in the Siege of Limerick in 1690.2
