Dorothy Lynch Cotton-Jodrell1

Dorothy Lynch Cotton-Jodrell was the daughter of Colonel Sir Edward Thomas Davenant Cotton-Jodrell and Mary Rennell Coleridge.2 She married Lt.-Col. Henry Ramsden-Jodrell, son of John Charles Francis Ramsden and Emma Susan Duncombe, on 3 June 1902.2 She died on 24 April 1958.1
She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Derbyshire.1 From 3 June 1902, her married name became Ramsden.2 She was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1920.1 From 15 March 1920, her married name became Ramsden-Jodrell.1

Lt.-Col. Henry Ramsden-Jodrell was born on 14 March 1871.2 He was the son of John Charles Francis Ramsden and Emma Susan Duncombe.1,2 He married Dorothy Lynch Cotton-Jodrell, daughter of Colonel Sir Edward Thomas Davenant Cotton-Jodrell and Mary Rennell Coleridge, on 3 June 1902.2 He died on 3 September 1950 at age 79.2
He was given the name of Henry Ramsden at birth.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.1 He was director of the Ministery of Munitions during the First World War.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1917.2 On 15 March 1920 his name was legally changed to Henry Ramsden-Jodrell by royal licence.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Cheshire.2
