Rt. Hon. Sir John Gilmour of Lundin and Montrave, 2nd Bt.1

Rt. Hon. Sir John Gilmour of Lundin and Montrave, 2nd Bt. was born on 27 May 1876.1 He was the son of Sir John Gilmour of Lundin and Montrave, 1st Bt. and Henrietta Gilmour.2 He married, firstly, Mary Louise Lambert, daughter of Edward Tiley Lambert, on 9 April 1902.1 He married, secondly, Violet Agnes Lambert, daughter of Edward Tiley Lambert, on 17 April 1920.1 He died on 30 March 1940 at age 63.1
He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for East Renfrewshire between 1910 and 1918.2 He fought in the First World War, in Gallipoli, Egypt and Pelastine and was mentioned in despatches and was also wounded.2 He was awarded the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918 and bar.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Pollok between 1918 and 1940.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Gilmour, of Lundin and Montrave, co. Harry Gilmour was born on 15 September 1878.1 He was the son of Sir John Gilmour of Lundin and Montrave, 1st Bt. and Henrietta Gilmour.2 He died on 24 December 1925 at age 47.1

Douglas Gilmour1

Douglas Gilmour was born on 13 November 1889.1 He was the son of Sir John Gilmour of Lundin and Montrave, 1st Bt. and Henrietta Gilmour.2 He married Doris Hyacinth Hooker, daughter of Charles Paget Hooker, on 16 December 1910.1 He died on 16 February 1916 at age 26, from wounds received in action.1
He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the 7th Seaforth Highlanders.1
