He was educated at Ampleforth College, Ampleforth, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was Abbot of Westminster.1 He was the Abbot between 1939 and 1963 at Ampleforth, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 He was Abbot President of the English Congregation of the Order of St. Benedict between 1941 and 1961.1 He lived in 1976 at St. Mary's Priory, Leyland, Preston, Lancashire, EnglandG.1

Bernard Byrne1

Bernard Byrne was born in 1775.1 He was the son of Laurence Byrne and unknown Richardson.2,1 He married Mary Russell, daughter of Christopher Russell and Elizabeth Ryan, on 8 January 1794.1 He died in 1829, after being thrown by his horse.1
He was also known as Brian.1 He lived at Ballenderry Grove, County Wicklow, IrelandG.1 He and Mary Russell emigrated along with their children to Maryland, U.S.A.G, arriving on 1818.1 He lived at Wicklow Plantation, St. John's River, Florida, U.S.A.G, a 9,000 acre estate.1 In 1823 he rebuilt his house after it was burnt by Seminole Indians during the Seminole War with the U.S.1
