Henry Pleydell Dawnay, 3rd Viscount Downe1

Henry Pleydell Dawnay, 3rd Viscount Downe was born on 8 April 1727.1 He was the son of Hon. John Dawnay and Charlotte Louisa Pleydell.2 He died on 9 December 1760 at age 33, unmarried.1
He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Downe [I., 1681] circa May 1741.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Yorkshire between 1750 and 1760.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 25th Foot.1 He was Lord of the Bedchamber to the Prince of Wales.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)1 He fought in the Battle of Minden in 1759.1 He fought in the Battle of Campen on 16 October 1760.1

John Dawnay, 4th Viscount Downe1

John Dawnay, 4th Viscount Downe was born on 9 April 1728.1 He was the son of Hon. John Dawnay and Charlotte Louisa Pleydell.2 He married Laura Burton, daughter of William Burton, on 20 May 1763.1 He died on 21 December 1780 at age 52.2
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Cirencester between 1754 and 1768.1 He succeeded as the 4th Viscount Downe [I., 1681] on 9 December 1760.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Malton between 1768 and 1774.1

Laura Burton1

Laura Burton was the daughter of William Burton.2 She married John Dawnay, 4th Viscount Downe, son of Hon. John Dawnay and Charlotte Louisa Pleydell, on 20 May 1763.1 She died on 24 April 1812.1
After her marriage, Laura Burton was styled as Viscountess Downe on 20 May 1763. From 20 May 1763, her married name became Dawnay.

Marmaduke Langley1

Marmaduke Langley was born on 26 July 1777.1 He was the son of John Dawnay, 4th Viscount Downe and Laura Burton.2 He died on 1 October 1851 at age 74, unmarried.1
He was given the name of Marmaduke Dawnay at birth.1 In 1824 his name was legally changed to Marmaduke Langley by Royal Licence.1
