Captain Sir William Hoste, 1st Bt.1

Captain Sir William Hoste, 1st Bt. was born on 26 August 1780 at Ingoldisthorpe, Norfolk, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Reverend Dixon Hoste and Margaret Stanforth.1 He married Lady Harriet Walpole, daughter of Horatio Walpole, 2nd Earl of Orford and Sophia Churchill, on 17 April 1817.1 He died on 6 December 1828 at age 48.2
He gained the rank of Midshipman in April 1793 in the Royal Navy, as captain's servant to Nelson on board H.M.S. Agamemnon.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1798.1 He was educated at Paston School, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1802.1 He fought in the Battle of Lissa in 1811, where he defeated Commodore Bernard Bubourdieu's squadron of 7 frigates, with only 4 frigates.1 He was created 1st Baronet Hoste [U.K.] on 21 September 1814.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.)3 He has an extensive biographical entry in the 1911 Encyclopaedia Britannica.1

Reverend Joseph Wolff

Reverend Joseph Wolff was born in 1795.1 He married Lady Georgiana Mary Walpole, daughter of Horatio Walpole, 2nd Earl of Orford and Sophia Churchill, on 6 February 1827.2 He died on 2 May 1862.2
He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)2 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.)2 He was the Vicar at Isle Brewers, Somerset, EnglandG. He was a co-founder of the Irvingite Church.3

Horatio William Walpole, 4th Earl of Orford was born on 18 April 1813.2 He was the son of Horatio Walpole, 3rd Earl of Orford and Mary Fawkener.1,2 He married Harriet Bettina Frances Pellew, daughter of Admiral Hon. Sir Fleetwood Broughton Reynolds Pellew and Harriet Webster, on 11 November 1841.2 He died on 7 December 1894 at age 81.1
He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)2 He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Orford [U.K., 1806] on 29 December 1858.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baron Walpole of Walpole, co. Harriet Bettina Frances Pellew1

Harriet Bettina Frances Pellew was the daughter of Admiral Hon. Sir Fleetwood Broughton Reynolds Pellew and Harriet Webster.2 She married Horatio William Walpole, 4th Earl of Orford, son of Horatio Walpole, 3rd Earl of Orford and Mary Fawkener, on 11 November 1841.2 She died on 9 November 1886.2
Her married name became Walpole. After her marriage, Harriet Bettina Frances Pellew was styled as Countess of Orford on 29 December 1858.

Admiral Hon. Sir Fleetwood Broughton Reynolds Pellew1

Admiral Hon. Sir Fleetwood Broughton Reynolds Pellew was born on 13 December 1789.2 He was the son of Edward Pellew, 1st Viscount Exmouth and Susannah Frowde.3 He married, firstly, Harriet Webster, daughter of Sir Godfrey Webster, 4th Bt. and Elizabeth Vassall, on 5 June 1816.2 He married, secondly, Cécile Drummond, daughter of Edward Drummond, Comte de Melfort and Marie Sabina Naysmith, on 22 February 1851.1 He and Cécile Drummond were divorced in 1859.1 He died on 28 July 1861 at age 71 at Marseilles, FranceG.2
He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)3 He gained the rank of Admiral of the Blue.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Hanoverian Order (K.C.H.)3
