Arol Alexander Courtney Gage was born in September 1910 at Devonport, Devon, England.2 He was the son of Reverend Alexander Hugh Gage and Violet Agnes Evangeline Courtney Blake.3 He married Pamela Mary Milne-Thomson, daughter of Brigadier Moray M. Milne-Thomson, in 1936 at Woolwich, Kent, England.1,2 He died on 21 December 1939 at age 29, killed in action, while serving on H.M.S. Bagshot.1,2
He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.2
