Sir Francis Gordon Lowe, 2nd Bt. was born on 21 June 1884.1 He was the son of Sir Francis William Lowe, 1st Bt. and Mary Holden.2 He married, firstly, Margaret Alice Manley Sims, daughter of George Manley Sims, on 4 May 1914.1 He and Margaret Alice Manley Sims were divorced in 1926.1 He married, secondly, Dorothy Honor Woolrych, daughter of Colonel Humphrey Stephen Woolrych, on 17 November 1926.1 He died in 1972.1
Sir Francis Gordon Lowe, 2nd Bt. usually went by his middle name of Gordon.1 He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.3 He graduated from Clare College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1905 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was an international lawn tennis–player and journalist.3 He fought in the First World War between 1916 and 1919, with the Indian Army in Mespotamia, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was Proprietor of Gordon Lowe Sports.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Lowe, of Edgbaston, City of Birmingham [U.K., 1918] on 12 November 1929.1
