Leopold Richard Seymour was born on 23 September 1912.1 He was the son of Richard Sturgis Seymour and Lady Victoria Alexandrina Mabel FitzRoy.1 He married Sheila Butler, daughter of Colonel Arnold Charles Paul Butler, on 13 June 1940.1 He died on 18 September 2000 at age 87.2
He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He held the office of High Sherriff of Hertfordshire in 1964.1
