Arthur Goodall Wavell and Anne Paxton.1 He married Florence Darwin Huish, daughter of Marcus Huish and Frances Sarah Darwin, on 27 January 1880 at Smalley, Derbyshire, England.1,2 He died on 21 November 1915 at age 77.1

He was commissioned with the rank of Ensign, in the service of the Indian Army.1 He fought in the Indian Mutiny, where he was one of the first officers through the gates at the Siege of Delhi.1 He fought in the China War between 1860 and 1862.1 He fought in the Afghan War in 1879.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1883.1 He lived at Somborne, Farnborough, Hampshire, EnglandG.1
