Thomas Rennie Stevenson1

Thomas Rennie Stevenson was born on 26 October 1841.1 He was the son of Nathaniel Stevenson and Margaret Jane Scott.2 He married Isabella Friend, daughter of John Banks Friend and Ellen Pigeon, on 4 June 1870.1 He died on 19 November 1923 at age 82.1
He was educated at Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 He fought in the Egyptian Campaign in 1882, including Battle of Tel-el-Kebir (despatches, medal and clasp and Khedive's Star.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1884.1 He was commander of the Royal Irish Fusiliers in 1886.1 He was commander of the 26th and 71st Regiment Districts between 1887 and 1892.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1893.1 He was Colonel of the Royal Irish Fusiliers in 1899.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1

Herbert Harry Macdonald Stuart-Stevenson of Torrance1

Herbert Harry Macdonald Stuart-Stevenson of Torrance was born on 14 July 1876.1 He was the son of Thomas Rennie Stevenson and Isabella Friend.2 He married Helen Constance Crawfurd-Stirling-Stuart, daughter of William James Crawfurd-Stirling-Stuart of Castlemilk and Constance Marie de Lormet Dennistoun, on 9 July 1929.1 He died on 17 September 1953 at age 77.1
He was given the name of Herbert Harry Macdonald Stevenson at birth.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Major in 1922 in the Highland Light Infantry.1 He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.1 In 1938 his name was legally changed to Herbert Harry Macdonald Stuart-Stevenson when his wife succeeded to estates of Castlemilk and Torrance.1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 26 March 1946.1 He lived at Sunnyside, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1
