Sir Roderick Edward François McQuhae Mackenzie of Scatwell, 11th Bt. was born on 11 December 1894.1 He was the son of John Roderick Kenneth Mackenzie and Kathleen Elizabeth Coulson.2 He married Marie Evelyn Campbell, daughter of William Ernest Campbell, on 3 December 1938.1 He died on 7 January 1986 at age 91 at Farnham, Surrey, England.1,3
He was educated at Royal Naval College, Osborne, Isle of Wight, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Naval College, Darmouth, Devon, England.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.) in 1916.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He was awarded the U.S. Medal Freedom with silver clasp.2 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1945.1 He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Mackenzie, of Scatwell, co. Ross [N.S., 1703] in 1981.1
