James Gordon Macpherson, 2nd Baron Macpherson of Drumochter was born on 22 January 1924.2 He was the son of Thomas Macpherson, 1st Baron Macpherson of Drumochter and Lucy Butcher.2 He married, firstly, Dorothy Ruth Coulter, daughter of Reverend Henry Coulter, on 15 April 1947.2 He married, secondly, Catherine Bridget MacCarthy, daughter of Dr. Desmond MacCarthy, on 3 March 1975.1 He died on 7 September 2008 at age 84 at Highview Nursing Home, Inverness, Inverness-shire, Scotland.3
James Gordon Macpherson, 2nd Baron Macpherson of Drumochter usually went by his middle name of Gordon.1 He was educated at Wells House School, Malvern, Worcestershire, England.2 He was educated at Loretto School, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He fought in the Second World War Tst 1970, in the Royal Air Force.2 He was educated at Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Essex in 1961.2 He was chairman and managing director Macpherson, Train and Company and subsidiary in 1964.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Macpherson of Drumochter, of Great Warley, co. Essex [U.K., 1951] on 11 June 1965.2 He was appointed FZA in 1966.1 He was deputy chairman of Brentwood Bench between 1972 and 1976.2 He was member of the Essex Magistrate Court Case between 1974 and 1976.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.) in 1984.2 He lived in 2003 at Kyllachy, Tomatin, Inverness-shire, Scotland G.2

Dorothy Ruth Coulter was the daughter of Reverend Henry Coulter.2 She married James Gordon Macpherson, 2nd Baron Macpherson of Drumochter, son of Thomas Macpherson, 1st Baron Macpherson of Drumochter and Lucy Butcher, on 15 April 1947.1 She died on 8 October 1974.2
Dorothy Ruth Coulter usually went by her middle name of Ruth.2 From 15 April 1947, her married name became Macpherson. After her marriage, Dorothy Ruth Coulter was styled as Baroness Macpherson of Drumochter on 11 June 1965.

Fountain, on 15 September 1972.1 She and Brian Anthony Fountain were divorced in 1980.1 She married, secondly, Derek Everest in 1987.1
From 15 September 1972, her married name became Fountain. From 1987, her married name became Everest.
