John Geoffrey Grylls Mander was born on 28 May 1932.1 He was the son of Sir Geoffrey Le Mesurier Mander and Mary Rosalie Glynn Grylls.2 He married, firstly, Gertrude Bracher on 17 December 1956.1 He and Gertrude Bracher were divorced in 1968.1 He married, secondly, Penelope Loveday Williams, daughter of Lt.-Cdr. James Dennis Williams and Pamela Winifred Mary Green, on 19 April 1969.1 He died on 2 September 1978 at age 46, without issue.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was an author.1

She was a journalist.1 From 12 August 1965, her married name became Mander-Lahr. She lived in 2003 at Wightwick Manor, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England G.1
