John Steuart, 9th of Dalguise was born on 7 August 1799.2 He was the son of Charles Steuart, 8th of Dalguise and Amelia Anne Sophia Oliphant.2 He was baptised on 25 August 1799 at Blairgowrie, Perthshire, ScotlandG.2 He married Hon. Janet Oliphant Murray, daughter of Alexander Murray, 8th Lord Elibank and Janet Oliphant, on 5 April 1829 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1,2
He held the office of Master of the Supreme Court of the Cape of Good Hope. He lived at Dalguise, Perthshire, ScotlandG.

Janet Oliphant Murray was born on 15 May 1805.1 She was the daughter of Alexander Murray, 8th Lord Elibank and Janet Oliphant.2 She was baptised on 13 June 1805 at London Wall Scotch Church, London, EnglandG.1 She married John Steuart, 9th of Dalguise, son of Charles Steuart, 8th of Dalguise and Amelia Anne Sophia Oliphant, on 5 April 1829 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.3,1 She died on 9 August 1871 at age 66.3
Her married name became Steuart.

Sir Tristram Tempest, 4th Bt. was born on 10 June 1865.1 He was the son of Sir Robert Tempest Tempest, 3rd Bt. and Amelia Helen Steuart.1 He married Mabel Ethel MacGregor, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir George Hall MacGregor, on 24 April 1902.1 He died on 23 June 1909 at age 44, without issue.1
He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Ricketts, of The Elms, co. Gloucester and Beaumont-Leyes, co. Leicester [U.K., 1928] on 4 February 1901.1
