David Oliphant was born on 10 July 1876.1 He was the son of Thomas Truman Oliphant and Georgina Elizabeth Mansfield.1 He died on 5 July 1900 at age 23 at Peking, China, killed in the defence of the British Legation.1
He fought in the Boxer Rebellion.1 He was with HM Consular Service, China.1
