George Cecil Hans Hamilton was born on 13 February 1888.1 He was the son of Henry Best Hans-Hamilton and Margaret Gordon Bond-Cabbell.2 He married Eva Marjorie Hornby, daughter of Edgar Christian Hornby and Eva Gertrude Lemonius, on 27 June 1916.1 He died on 1 October 1960 at age 72.1
He was educated at King's College School, Wimbledon, London, England.1 He graduated from King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)1 He graduated from King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.1 He was admitted to Inner Temple entitled to practise as a barrister-at-law.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)1 He lived at Somersby House, Lincolnshire, England.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) in 1959.1
