Colonel Sir William Thomas Reginald Houldsworth, 3rd Bt. was born on 24 August 1874.1 He was the son of Sir William Henry Houldsworth, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Graham Crum.1,2 He married Ethel Mary Alberta Whitmore, daughter of Captain Thomas Charles Douglas Whitmore and Louisa Margaret Emily Cradock-Hartopp, on 20 July 1899.1 He died on 31 December 1960 at age 86.1

He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Manchester between 1883 and 1885.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Manchester North-West between 1885 and 1906.1 He was created 1st Baronet Houldsworth, of Reddish, co, Lancaster and Coodham, Symington, Ayrshire [U.K.] on 29 July 1887.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Ayrshire.1
