Sir Edward Irby, 1st Bt. was the son of Anthony Irby and Mary Stringer.2,3 He married Dorothy Paget, daughter of Hon. Henry Paget and Mary O'Rorke, in 1706.4 He died on 11 November 1718 at Kingscliffe, Northamptonshire, EnglandG.1,5 He was buried on 11 November 1718 at Whaplode, Lincolnshire, EnglandG.5 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 4 June 1719.5
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Boston between 1702 and 1708.3 He was created 1st Baronet Irby, of Whapload and Boston, co. Lincoln [Great Britain] on 13 April 1704.1
