Lawrence Dundas, 2nd Marquess of Zetland2

Lawrence John Lumley Dundas, 2nd Marquess of Zetland was born on 11 June 1876.1 He was the son of Lawrence Dundas, 1st Marquess of Zetland and Lady Lillian Selina Elizabeth Lumley.1 He married Cicely Archdale, daughter of Colonel Mervyn Henry Archdale and Mary de Bathe, on 3 December 1907.3 He died on 6 February 1961 at age 84.3
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Viceroy of India in 1900.1 He wrote the book Sport and Politics Under an Eastern Sky, published 1902.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 1st North Riding Yorkshire (W Div), Royal Artillery.1 He wrote the book On the Outskirts of Empire in Asia, published 1904.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) Cicely Archdale was born in 1886.1 She was the daughter of Colonel Mervyn Henry Archdale and Mary de Bathe.1 She married Lawrence John Lumley Dundas, 2nd Marquess of Zetland, son of Lawrence Dundas, 1st Marquess of Zetland and Lady Lillian Selina Elizabeth Lumley, on 3 December 1907.1 She died on 11 January 1973.1
From 3 December 1907, her married name became Dundas.1 After her marriage, Cicely Archdale was styled as Marchioness of Zetland on 11 March 1929.

Lawrence Aldred Mervyn Dundas, 3rd Marquess of Zetland was born on 12 November 1908.1 He was the son of Lawrence John Lumley Dundas, 2nd Marquess of Zetland and Cicely Archdale.1 He married Katherine Mary Penelope Pike, daughter of Colonel Ebenezer John Lecky Pike and Olive Snell, on 2 December 1936.1 He died on 5 October 1989 at age 80.1

Katherine Mary Penelope Pike usually went by her middle name of Penelope.1 Her married name became Dundas. After her marriage, Katherine Mary Penelope Pike was styled as Marchioness of Zetland on 6 February 1961.
