About Ramin

Ramin Naghachian, a young half-Persian producer living in (or around) Frankfurt (Germany) is known under many different names. The Iranian-born has had releases as: Ramin, Naghachian, Afrotrance, Sad World, Ulysses, Hysterie, ... (to name just the ones we know about :-)

He started as a producer recording life on PCP with warpo-exepeditions like "(Where Is My) Ecstasy?". "Brainticket", his first single forLogic, made his name in the throb-house disco and "Moonchild" is even smoother. Ramin ploughs a similar furrow on a Queen-sampling Frankfurt Beat EP but stays underground under his Afrotrance alter-ego, a duo consisting of Ramin and PIT.

Hysterie, a more commercial eurodance/house-project with female vocals, was founded by Mehmet Sönmez. Rashid Nouri and Ramin Naghachian has joined him later, since summer 1994 Hysterie is just Mehmet & Ramin.

Ramin also created the fantastic harmonious beatoriented environmental ethno soundtrack style Sad World series togther withDr.Atmo, which has been released on FAX +49-69/450464 (often called "FAX-Label" for short).

Universal Product Code / International Article Number

The Universal Product Code (UPC aka EAN.UCC-12) is the original 12-digit barcode widely used in USA and Canada for items in stores since 1974. The International Article Number (EAN-13) was developed as a superset of UPC with an additional 13th digit for international use (UPC has the prefix 0 in the EAN system).
UPC consists of an item group digit, a 5-digit manufacturer code, a 5-digit product reference number assigned by the manufacturer and a check digit. EAN is build up using 2-3 digits for country prefix, 4-5 digits manufacturer code, 5-digit product reference number and a check digit.
For a list of EAN country codes see Wikipedia, but note that they're not valid for 12-digit UPC codes.
