St Michael and the Angel Gabriel, by James Powell & Sons (original) (raw)
St Michael and the Angel Gabriel
James Powell & Sons
St James, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight
After 1873
Here is St Michael killing the dragon, and next to him on the right the Angel Gabrile bearing a lily stem and making the sign of salutation and peace (below this panel is the lower panel, largely in golden colours, showing the Annunciation). Recording angels fill the panel alongside. The window is in memory of George Brushfield Hodges, a priest who "entered into rest" on Michaelmas Eve, 1873, at the young age of 32.
